Plymouth Hoe looks out across the English Channel with panoramic views of Devon and Cornwall. Outside this modern city lies the unique, ancient moorland of Dartmoor National Park.

You can be sat in one of the many Plymouth restaurants or cafes in the city centre and within 30 minutes you could be on the beach or even walking across Dartmoor. There is no other city in the whole of the United Kingdom that has the convenience of location to be able to offer this variety of activity.

Plymouth offers hundreds of restaurants, pubs and clubs and is proud of its Theatre Royal which is amongst the best in the country.

There is also the Plymouth Pavilion which regularly hosts star entertainers both in the music and the comedy world.

For sporting enthusiasts Plymouth provides professional sports clubs such as Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Plymouth Albion Rugby Club, Plymouth Raiders Basketball and Plymouth Devil's Speedway Teams.

If you are more interested in partaking in sports yourself then there are numerous sports clubs around the area and lots of golf clubs nearby. Along with a selection of gymnasiums there is also the finest indoor sports centre in the country. Newly opened in March 2012, the Plymouth Life Centre is where you can play a wide variety of sports and use the Olympic sized swimming pool which is the only one in the South West.
For those who enjoy local live music, Plymouth has always had a strong music scene which today seems to be stronger than ever.
