Tree Wardens

Add News

Plymouth Tree Partnership's main focus is building and supporting a network of volunteer community minded people who act as Tree Wardens. They are local people who are prepared to learn about and take part in one or more tree-related activities.

The sort of duties that they take part include arranging the planting of new trees and tending young trees until they become established. Wardens may need to carry out various surveys or help with administering the network of volunteers. Some wardens go into local schools and talk to the children about the trees around them and why they are so important to us all.

All new Tree Wardens receive a free handbook explaining more about the work of Tree Wardens. They also receive regular newsletters and occasional free books. There’s usually a monthly meeting with the aim of learning more about trees and how to care for them.

A Tree Warden is not only making a valuable contribution to our community today but also for that of our children and their children too. They are helping to leave a long-lasting legacy for the benefit of generations to come so if you are interested in becoming a Tree Warden you can fill in an application form at the Plymouth Tree Partnership website or you can find their contact details here.
