Plymouth Pavilion Events and Information
Plymouth Pavilions events are what make Plymouth UK the entertainment capital of the south west of England along with the much respected Plymouth Theatre Royal productions. Plymouth Pavilions concerts include some of biggest names in British entertainment including past acts such as  Kylie Minogue, Deep Purple, Radiohead, Coldplay, Oasis, Ricky  Gervais  & Morrissey and yet the Plymouth Pavilions arena is also home to Plymouth Raiders basketball team (see sports fixtures in Plymouth).

Owned by Plymouth Council the entertainment and sports complex provides many Plymouth jobs and brings in much welcome trade to nearby hotels in Plymouth. When opened in 1991 the Plymouth Pavilions capacity of 4000 was thought to herald Plymouth into a new exciting era of entertainment in Plymouth and together with the later construction of Vue Plymouth, the city has seen an upturn of indoor entertainment venues which is much appreciated during some of the wetter Plymouth weather conditions.

Not only does the Pavilions Plymouth entertainment centre have regular music and comedy gigs but there is also the Plymouth Pavilions Swimming Pool and the only indoor Plymouth Ice rink.

The Pavilions is particularly good for children because of the ice rink and swimming pool which is equipped with two water flumes, a wave machine, a jacuzzi, water features, as well as a shallow area complete with slide for young children.
They also provide floats and fun toys during certain sessions for children to play with in the pool.

Likewise the ice rink, the staff are very friendly and are on hand to give advice and help if you are having problems keeping your balance. There is constant music, with seating around the edge for you to rest and buy drinks and refreshments from various vending machines.

Plymouth Pavilions parking

There is limited parking onsite (115 spaces) but there is plenty of other parking available within a few minutes walk. Western Approach car park is situated above Toys R Us and is connected by a bridge/walkway to Plymouth Pavilions and has a (1094 spaces) although you are advised not to park lower than the 3rd floor in the evening. You can find plenty of other parking at the Theatre Royal multi storey car park (612 spaces) or at the Colin Campbell car park (251 spaces) so together with on street parking in the Plymouth Pavilions area you shouldn’t find it too difficult to park.

If you are visiting Plymouth accommodation could be an important factor so you will be pleased to know there are many hotels in Plymouth and it isn’t a difficult job in Plymouth to find somewhere to stay. The Duke of Cornwall opposite Plymouth Pavilions and the New Continental Hotel also very nearby, are probably the most convenient hotels for visitors to Plymouth Pavilions but there are many guesthouses and B&B near Plymouth Pavilions.

Future Plans

When the new Plymouth Life Centre opens the Leisure facilities in Plymouth Pavilions will eventually close with the swimming provision move across to the new Life Centre. Plymouth Council are planning to create a new Ice Rink in the city and are presently looking at suitable locations.

The Pavilions will however continue to operate as the South West's Number 1 entertainment and conference venue and will still bring all the best acts and shows to Plymouth as they have done in the past. Perhaps the ultimate plan will be to use the extra space into an even larger venue for top entertainment in Plymouth.
