The first of its kind when it was established in 1978, Suzanne Sparrow’s Plymouth Language School offers a wide range of courses for the improvement of English language skills. Suzanne Sparrow is the much-loved Principal of the Plymouth Language School and, with well over 33 years of experience in teaching English, she fully understands the needs of her students.

The school’s ethos is to provide an environment in which students feel totally at ease and Suzanne concerns herself with their welfare as well as their education.

The school manages to combine professionalism with a family atmosphere, creating the ideal learning environment and attracting large numbers of students every year.

They make extensive use of host families with whom students can stay during the period of their training. Many students strike up long-lasting relationships with family members and return to the same homes when they attend more advanced courses at the school.

The accommodation is carefully selected by the Student Support Officer in conjunction with Suzanne Sparrow.

The welfare of students is checked and monitored to ensure both a pleasurable and educational stay. Alternatively hotels and apartments of a good standard can also be arranged if required by the school  or you can look through this website for ActivPlymouth hotels & accommodation.

Students coming to Plymouth for the first time will find there is plenty to do, and alongside the purely educational training, for some courses the school also provides a variety of activities, such as swimming, ice skating, and ten-pin bowling, as well as trips to such diverse locations as Tintagel Castle, Paignton Zoo, National Marine Aquarium, Dartmoor National Park, Theatre, and the Eden Project.
