PLYMOUTH CORINTHIAN CYCLING CLUB
How can you keep fit, save money and have fun all at the same time?
The answer is cycling. They say people who cycle regularly live 10 years longer than the rest of us and if you commute to and from work by bike in Plymouth, then you will also be saving yourself a small fortune in transport and parking costs.
The health benefits of regular cycling
So where does the fun side come into it? Well how about the Plymouth Corinthian Cycling Club which is one of the oldest clubs in Great Britain. Formed about 120 years ago with Plymothians riding and racing around the country roads of Devon, the aims of the club remain the same today - to promote cycling as a social, recreational and competitive activity.

Over the years the club has gone from strength to strength as more members have joined, meeting each Sunday morning at 9am at the Elburton Hotel. New members are always welcome to turn up and join in with one of the rides. Just introduce yourself to one of the team and they will ensure that you are looked after during the ride.
Team member ages range from 18 to 70 plus so if you think you would enjoy riding with a friendly bunch for a few hours on a Sunday morning then give it a try. Whether you are cycling for fun or have serious racing ambitions Plymouth Corinthian Cycling Club will cater for you.

You are advised to wear the usual safety gear but the type of bike you ride is not too important as the Sunday ride is not a race. However, if racing is your objective then there are members who regularly race and will gladly introduce you to the competitive side of the club.

If you are looking to buy a bike or need some accessories why not try ActivPlymouth classifieds for your cycling equipment, including everything from helmets to mudguards and pedals to brake levers. Search the pages for some real bargains!

Becoming a member of the Plymouth Corinthians only costs between £7.50 and £15.00 per annum and allows you to receive a 10% discount at certain cycle stores.
